Wabash Interurban Photos?
« on: April 06, 2012, 11:23:39 PM »
I was in Wabash and Lagro today along the Fort Wayne & Wabash Valley right-of-way. As many remnants near Wabash as there are, there don't seen to be any photos anywhere in Wabash.

Does anyone happen to have any photos of interurbans in Wabash, specifically a depot, or... anything? ???

I'll have to look back through the Ft Wayne & Wabash Valley Trolleys book and see what's in there.

One depot, and think they had several locations, was located east of Cass on Market. It is now a parking lot.

Since you live near Tipton and are speaking of Wabash, you may be interested in using a list of known remaining remnants...

If you find any, that are not listed, please add them here...

To assist you in following the routes...

There is a book out called " The Indiana Railroad," it is about the Indiana Traction Co. It is by George K. Bradley.  I know that it has several photo's of the Wabash, IN. area interurbans and streetcars in it. I also know that there was a book written in the late 1960's on the Fort Wayne & Wabash Valley Railroad that shows some stuff in it.

Do a search on the internet for M.D. McCarter Photos. He has one of the largest negative collections of interurbans in Indiana. When you get there, you can download his catalog in PDF format and also print off an order form with prices. Of course, Malcolm has thousands of other images including steam and diesel in Indiana.
