I'll try to see if I can go or not. Maybe CIND 2254 will let me go with him.

It'll be a good show on Saturday, you'll be in for a real treat if you stop by the Naptown and White River RR layout and be amazed to see the only woman in the group running a train. ;D

Odd. I made an announcement on Tuesday, but the thread is gone. Come to think of it, so are a lot of y posts, I don't think they're even making it to the site. Hmm...

Nope. Nothing you've posted has been deleted, so it sounds like something when you post might be going wonky.

Hoping this works, crossing my fingers.

From what I hear from vendors, this was a good show. Woo!

Official turnout at Manual was 256. Not so woo... Not bad, with gas being high and the Monster Trucks probably stealing some of our thunder, but that is nowhere CLOSE to what we do in December, and March is supposed to be a bigger show.

We did get about four pages of guestbook sign ins, and not everyone signs the clubhouse book, so it sounds like we had a marvelous turnout there. Woo! Again. Couple of highlights though, I found some good deals on good prices, and the newest layout to join the Naptown & White River in W(ooden)-Gauge got some good attention, so I'm pleased at that.

A few of the NMRA shows at least are, but then you get into church crowds, and the school doesn't want to staff (custodial) on Sundays, espcally if other events or groups are using other parts of the school on Saturday.

The few remaining one-day shows around here are all on Sundays.

You probably won't see many June, July, or August shows.  Having done shows for many years, I can safely say that in general they are the worst attended of the year.  I personally wish they were well attended, I model year round.  Unfortunately you get into outdoor activities, sports, family vacations, and just plain hot uncomfortable weather.  I attended one in the summer in an unairconditioned building....few came and all left quickly.  The Galesburg RR Days show is one of the few that draws a crowd. The best show months are October through late February.

Yes, I dreaded attending the Wheaton show in the summer, but was pleasantly surprised to have the A/C in the the main building the last time we met in August 2009. In fact, one of the secondary buildings was as cold as a meat locker!
