THE BOY'S UP IN NORTH JUDSON,IN. JUST RECENTLY RESTORED THEIR ALCO S-1 SWITCHER BOTH MECHANICALY AND COSMETICALY. IT HAD STARTED OUT IN LIFE AS ERIE NO.310. THEN IT WENT TO GEORGE SILLCOTT LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY. IT HAD BEEN LEASED TO U.S. STEEL. AND THEN IT WAS FINALLY GIVEN TO H.V.R.M. IN THE EARLY '90's. THEY HAD REPAINTED IT TO ITS OLD ERIE GLORY. LAST YEAR THEY DECIDED TO RESTORE IT TO ERIE LACKAWANNA COLORS. AND BOY DOES THAT OLD ENGINE LOOK SHARP!!!!!  THEY ALSO HAVE SEVERAL NICELY RESTORED CABOOSES AND FREIGHT CARS. THEY GIVE TRAIN RIDES ALL SUMMER LONG MOSTLY ON SATURDAYS. SO GO AHEAD AND GIVE THEM A TRY.

Here's another photo of the 310. Taken the day it was officially rolled out of the shop.

It's great to see one of the old-timers getting good attention. :-)
