Have 10 passengers so far for the extra car, not counting you folks.
If I get close I will keep the car on.  I did not want to take money from the Santa Train Fund.
Like to keep the donation total around $4,000 after expenses.
May have  6 more from recent emails going in addition to you folks.

Over the years I have had all good comments about the "room to move about" and "plenty of food".
The sandwiches you fix the way you want, self serve.    Everything is bought the night before and keep iced.
Food and drinks remaining is given to the passengers to take home.    There is normally not much left.
Thanks
Brian

Next trip:  ALL cabooses on April 3, 2011. Cost $29, Meal NOT included.  On the Whitewater Valley RR at Connersville, IN

Recieved our old check and new one is in the mail today. Yes, I just love this "personal" and "your hometown bank" banking.   :P

I will subsidize it myself, if close, and pay myself back from next years trips.
If I have the money on hand at that time.
Should have most of my business receivables in by then and maybe a part time job !!!!!!

NOTE:  The extra car is a lounge, NOT a coach, so only have 6 seats available.
I assumed it would have more room, sorry.

SOLD OUT, now working on an additional car (if one is available)  should know by Friday evening.
Keep checks coming, in case I have cancellations. Have had three cancel already and replaced them already.  You will be put on a call list, checks NOT cashed unless you are called, may call you up to the Saturday before trip.
This is the longest train I have had so far, since 1991. 3 cars, gen car, two loco's.

In December, the INRD runs a Santa Train, stopping in the small towns along the line.
The kids get on board (train does not move) to visit Santa, and they receive gloves, hats and coats, etc....
This has been a annual event for many years.
I have gone to some to see the kids, they really enjoy it and that is what its all about, the kids.
The train is decorated in lights, at night it is neat to see.

My personal trips started out in 1991 and developed into a fund raising event for the Santa Train.

Next year will (plan to) depart from Indianapolis.

Had total of six cancel, and all vacancies were filled by "standbys".
Now have no more "standbys".
Send checks to be put on call for anymore vacancies.....will not cash checks unless you get on board.
May call up to that Friday before.
I see now that there will not be enough to add an additional car, unless several checks come in.

4th CAR ADDED.........Everyone can go now........Everyone will have a window seat.
I will pay the difference, as of today it will cost me $491.  This will be reduced as more payments come in.
I now have 18 for the extra car so far.  (It cost me $7 a person for the food and drinks, plus the car.)

No more "Standby"

Will accept payments up to Friday Nov 12, now that I have plenty of room (and I am paying the balance of cost on car.)
NO REFUNDS this close to trip.....unless RR cancels.
Have 109 passengers as of 10/29.

I normally do not take checks later than two weeks prior because if check does not clear !!!!!!!

All Aboard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello;

Maps mailed out last night.

For those who last week said they were sending payment, will so far I have not seen them !!!!!!!
I will be paying out of my pocket, the balance on the 4th car, so far $361 cost to me....
The 4th car was added based somewhat on folks who said they were going.
I know I should NEVER base any decision this way.
So where are YOU.....

Those who paid, THANK YOU,

Will have "Management" running the train...........so will have a little extra priority.

Will also have two "Meal" stops, so passengers can acquire their food and carry it back to their seat safely and will not miss any outside views.
Passengers can get food and drinks when ever they want, but these meal stops are mainly for those who may not feel stable carrying food between cars while moving.
First meal stop is when I get ready.
Second meal stop maybe at Odon

Start boarding at 8:30
Departure 9:00
Return between 4 and 5

MUST BE CHECKED  OFF BEFORE BOARDING.........
