Whitewater Valley Railroad’s  Day Out With Thomas

Pulling out of the Connersville, Indiana’s Grand Central Station for its 9th visit to the Whitewater Valley Railroad to ride their historic rails, the event will again include not only provide a chance for families to take a ride behind everybody’s favorite #1 engine, Thomas the Tank Engine, but to also enjoy Thomas-themed activities.  This year the event will include the Imagination Station (with stamps, temporary tattoos and hands-on arts and crafts), Irish folk musician Seamus Kennedy from Washington DC, and magician Marty Hahne from Branson, MO.  Handcar rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, a bounce house, miniature golf and many other games and rides are all included with the Thomas ticket.  The opportunity to meet and take your picture with Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway is also part of the fun.  Founded in 1972, the non-profit Whitewater Valley Railroad is an operating railroad museum staffed by volunteers from Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.

During the Day Out With Thomas 2009: The Hero of the Rails Tour, children will also be provided with a “Tour Map,” that guides them through the four station stops – After receiving four stamps on their map, each child will receive a 3-D Thomas poster with glasses (while supplies last).  In addition, exclusive Thomas & Friends merchandise is available at Day Out With Thomas events including a 2009 Day Out With Thomas passenger car and commemorative t-shirts, pennants, engineer caps, frames, and more.

The approximately 25-minute train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine will depart every 45 minutes, rain or shine. Tickets are on sale now by calling toll-free 866.468.7630 or logging onto www.whitewatervalleyrr.org.  For more information and directions contact the Whitewater Valley Railroad at 765-825-2054 or www.whitewatervalleyrr.org  The event takes place June 19-21 and June 26-28, 2009.
