Railfans of Indianapolis reminder
« on: March 09, 2009, 02:27:50 PM »
Just a reminder about the upcoming Railfans of Indianapolis meeting Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 2560 S. Villa Ave. Our program, "Indiana's Railroad Depots & Towers: 1980s & 1990s," will be presented by RFI member Roger Zimmerman. Roger will be showing slides taken by his late father, Larry Zimmerman, a longtime RFI member. We start to gather at 7 p.m. to shoot the bull and swap stories. The meeting starts at 7:30 with a short business/news session and then the main program. Visitors are always welcome. Anyone who needs directions to the church, feel free to send me a message.

Our April meeting should also be a winner as Mike Blaszak, a Chicago-area attorney and well-known railfan, presents a program called "Young Conrail." Many of you might recognize Mike's name and be familiar with his reputation among railfans. If you are a Trains magazine subscriber, Mike is the author of the main article on the role of railroads in the shipment of grain. Should be a great program.
