Library of Congress collection of Sanborn Maps
« on: May 08, 2020, 11:07:24 AM »
The Library of Congress announced that they have digitized 25 states worth of Sanborn maps (post 1900, public domain), including Indiana and every surrounding state.

Introduction: https://www.loc.gov/collections/sanborn-maps/about-this-collection/?loclr=twmap

Index: http://www.loc.gov/rr/geogmap/sanborn/?loclr=twmap

I don't believe I've seen reference to it on this board before.

Here's the key for the Caven lead, mentioned in another recent thread: https://www.loc.gov/resource/g4094im.g4094im_g02371195606/?sp=3

And here's the map from 1914 of the co-op mentioned in the Caven Lead thread: https://www.loc.gov/resource/g4094im.g4094im_g02371195606/?sp=53

The Indiana State Library made the Sanborn maps of Indiana up to 1923 some time ago https://www.in.gov/library/sanborn.htm but this new LoC collection also has years to the 1940's I am seeing. Thanks for sharing!
