I happened to be digging through the STB's filings and happened to find KCVN and Colorado Pacific sending in a Feeder Line Application to buy the Tennessee Pass Sub from Union Pacific. After reading through the dockets (listed below), it shows that these two companies are desperate to purchase the line: discussing about local customers, Moffat Tunnel clearance issues, amount of daily trains before the discontinuance of service by UP, cost of rehabilitation, maintenance costs, and more.

It would be interesting to see how close these two companies would get to compared to other parties that were interested in the line, let alone what interest UP has to reboot the line.

That is a very interesting line, goes through some beautiful scenery, Iíve been along it a couple times. There have been some really good discussions on the situation on Trainorders.
Have a good and safe day!

Go Reds!

So sorry about that, I attempted to upload the files on here which seemed to have failed... STB's way of loading any PDF's since their site updated has been requiring me to download them on IOS, at least it's easier to load on Windows.  :(
