Just curious why so early in the year. Will they not consider it once the "tourist season" kicks in?   I would very much like to do it, but I think I would like the scenery to be just a little better than March.

Scheduled trains running starting in May. Limited equipment and crew and few passing sidings. Just not possible.

That's kind of what I figured.  I guess on the bright side, you may be able to see stuff that would otherwise be hidden by leaves!

Brian, Is it still No One Under 14 Years Old on the Train? I will be putting it in our next NRHS News Letter, so the Guys can make Plans for it.

Correct Larry, age limit applies.
Have not received any reply from WVRR, just contacted them.

Mr. Durnell, I only run trips late October thru March, because of no leaves. To see everything.
On the Whitewater, can only see the old canal locks during these months.

Will get back with French Lick one of these days, for a new trip.

oops add'l:
You may bring your own cooler (food/drinks) if you do not want to dine at Laurel Inn on the return.
Some folks eat in Metamora.
The Inn has "bar" and some just get drinks while others dine.
You can do what ever you want as to your meal.
I will need to know about how many are to dine at the Inn so they can have proper help.

Please keep us updated and reminded about this trip.  I am going to try my very best to put it on my 2020 calendar of events.  My group would be anywhere from two to ten people, depending on interest and schedule conflicts, so I probably wouldn't be able to make any firm plans until the first of the year.

Will do Mr. Durnell, will be doing a bulk mailing the first of October.
Previously had put an ad in Trains, got a enough riders to just cover the ad cost, so will not do that again.
Total passenger count will be 54 - 7 paid = 47 to go.

On these WVRR runs, have had folks from Wisconsin, IN, OH, MI, IL, KY, WV and TN

Have had on the former INRD runs, passengers from California, FRA officials, an BNSF official, etc.

Wish I had the energy to get doing this on more railroads, but so many of my contacts have retired, etc.
that starting all over takes a lot of time. But will do French Lick, just got to get back on it.

I have four now that are pretty certain, and likely will have at least a few more.  I will try to get my ducks in a row in the next few weeks and get in contact with you.

Talked to the Laurel Restaurant today, meal will be a buffet, cost for now will be $15, may change by March.
There is new owners, I ate there and the food was good.
First bulk mailing was Oct 6, 2nd bulk mailing going out Oct 15th.

Using the new railroad stamps that are out and they look great on the mail.

Will keep updated.

Will plan on running these trips every two years, may try a shorter trip in 2022.
With departure time at 10 am, to end of track with only a restroom stop in Metamora, then to the Laurel Inn for meal, and arrive back at 4 pm. ?
Will see what passengers want?

The Central Indiana Div of the NMRA is planning on 3 cabooses.
I was at their meeting last Saturday and we discussed it.

A Harley Davidson group may take one caboose.

36 seats remain.

Reminder that only payments get you a seat,
I hear people say that they are going, but never see a check. STOP telling me that.
