Coming Soon, the First Sunday
« on: January 26, 2019, 06:32:54 AM »
February 3, 2019 - First Sunday
Our Railroads through Madison County
2001 to 2008
CSX, NS and More!
11 W 11th Street in Anderson

Beginning with the Federal Railroad Administration's T-2000 ‘Office of Safety’ car sitting in South Anderson Yard and moving to the CSX GRS-2 Track Inspection Car working the Big Four Westbound on Track 2, the Power Point presentation starts moving and does not let up throughout the 45 minutes. From High and Wide loads to the Indiana State Police making a safety video in cooperation with NS the show continues to have scene after scene for your viewing pleasure.

It isn’t just the steam years that hold an interest for us, but the railroads of today can hold a tremendous fascination. The 1995 Sperry Rail car has changed to a truck that rides the rails for us. From Operation Lifesaver to Loram Railgrinders to derailments and wrecks to Amtrack being diverted onto our rails. Then they were laying new rails and crossings. And then at the NYCSHS Convention in Indy, I photographed Phyllis Pangburn and Larry Baggerly. Phyllis was the first woman dispatcher in the United States, and Larry was an NYC Division Superintendent.

All of this and much more awaits your viewing pleasure at the Museum of  Madison County History in Anderson at 11 West 11th Street. Come one and come all to the First Sunday meeting at 2 pm on Sunday the 3rd of February.
