Frequencies on the ex-Southern
« on: May 30, 2018, 10:30:02 AM »
Is NS still using the two-channel frequency configuration on the ex-Southern across southern Indiana? Does anyone know the correct channels for down there, or any other auxiliary channels used in the yards or for switching?

Thanks,
E.J.

Yes but they have changed.

Let me dig them up.
If in doubt, Notch it out!

You might try AAR 79 161.295 (Channel 1)
                      AAR 89 161.445 (Channel 2)
                      AAR 92 161.490 (Coal Trains)
Fairly familiar with southern Indiana trackage

I knew they changed them again..that is why I went to look.

The road channel is no longer duplexed FYI.

Here is what they are licensed for on the mainline (ignore 161.115, that is the old Fred Freq)

161.490 seems to be the Princeton yard freq.

If in doubt, Notch it out!

Nah, I'm going to be out toward the west end (Princeton/Oakland City), so the channels out there will be fine.

If you have a mobile ATCS setup. There is a CTC island that is active from Mt Carmel thru Princeton to Oakland City.

It shows full display for the CSXT crossing.

No servers are in the area.
If in doubt, Notch it out!
