Railfans of Indianapolis welcomes Dan Finfrock to this month's meeting on Saturday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. Dan will show slides from a trip he took several years ago to the Gotthard Pass line, before the new tunnel on the line was built. He says this is Europe ís most important rail line, with more than 300 trains per day surmounting 2.5% grades on both sides of the mountain. Locomotives producing 5000 horsepower pull heavy freights and streamlined passenger train that connect almost every country in Europe. Trains run through spiral tunnels inside mountains on some of the best track in the world. There is nothing like it in the world today. He also notes that it is all done by non-polluting water power. The Swiss have a reputation for running a precision operation, and this program is a great opportunity to get an up-close look at this area.

We meet at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 2560 Villa Ave., Indianapolis. Visitors and guests are always welcome at our meetings.
