MCHS December Exhibit
« on: November 28, 2017, 07:42:34 AM »
The Madison County Historical Society will hold its annual Train Exhibit at the history center during the month of December.

Rail has played an important role in our county's development (traction, steam and diesel). This exhibit promotes those memories in all of us. In addition, we are having three Saturdays specifically for the kids who can't come during the week.

Admission is free.

"Do you remember when we rode trains?  When we received them at Christmas? What was Christmas without the train around the Christmas Tree? The toy catalogs at hardware stores and Sears, Penny's and Montgomery Ward's featuring Lionel, Marx and American Flyer? Remember?"

Well come and visit our train exhibit in the three rooms of the lower level of the Madison County History Center at 11 West 11th Street, that's 11th and Meridian, in downtown Anderson (elevator available) on the Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and the three Saturdays of December to view our rail history in models, photos, and memorabilia. There is an On30 old time layout designed for the kids to operate, O traction, S, HO, N, O27 Lionel, and an HO circus display for you to see. Perhaps you will even become hooked on modeling one of these scales. You never know!

Hours are December 1st from 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturday the 2nd from 10 AM to 6 PM. The remainder of December, Mon - Wed - Fri 10 AM to 3 PM and Saturday the 9th &16th 10 AM to - 2 PM (closed the 25th).
