MCHS Train Exhibit
« on: November 19, 2017, 11:24:14 AM »
The Madison County Historical Society will hold its annual Train Exhibit at the history center in Anderson.

This may help people remember the part that rail has played in our development (traction, steam and diesel). In addition, we are having three Saturdays specifically for kids.

Admission is free.

"It's a Train Exhibit." Do you remember when we rode trains?  When we received them at Christmas? What was Christmas without the train around the Christmas Tree? The toy catalogs at hardware stores and Sears, Penny's and Montgomery Ward's featuring Lionel, Marx and American Flyer? Remember?

Well come out and visit the train exhibit in the three rooms of the lower level of the Madison County History Center at 11 West 11th Street, that's 11th and Meridian, in downtown Anderson (elevator available) on the Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and 3 Saturdays of December to view our rail history in models, photos, and memorabilia. There is O scale traction, On30 old time layout designed for the kids to operate, S gauge, HO scale, N scale, O27 Lionel layouts and an HO circus display for you to see. Perhaps you will even become hooked on modeling one of these scales.

The hours are Mon - Wed - Fri 10AM to 3 PM and Sat 2nd, 9th &16th 10 AM to - 2 PM.
