Places around Indy or greenwood
« on: January 15, 2018, 03:08:53 PM »
Hey every one. I am asking suggestions for railfanning spots near Indy or greenwood. I am trying to get more railfanning experience when it gets warmer.
Thank you in advance

Not an action spot but running by Amtrak in Beech Grove can yield surprises sometimes

Parking garage adjacent to Bankers Life FH is good. Overlooks the IU Interlocking.

Not anymore. Since they put up the Pacers medical complex and training facility the view is blocked.

The two options are the old Union Station garage and the lot up the ramp at Alabama and Maryland streets.
If in doubt, Notch it out!

If and when Traffic picks up on the L&I, Franklin by the Depot is a good Location. I like it there. Also Warman Ave is a Good Location if you want Photo's of Indianapolis in the Back Round. We go there a lot. If you want to travel outside of Indianapolis, Muncie is a Good Location. You can catch the NS and CSX there. Also another good Location is at the Museum in Terre Haute. There you can Catch the Trains on the old C&EI coming out of Chicago and The Eastbound and Westbound Moves on the Old NYC Line coming out of St Louis and Avon. Makes for a Nice Mini Trip.
