I believe the last train to run through here was when they took a cut of coal hoppers from silex.

Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that the coal cars were taken North to Crawford Yard in Indianapolis.  Since Silex is North of Gosport, I imagine the last train through town may well have been quite a while earlier.  The rails I saw were at the N County Line Road E bridge, just South of town.
Cheers, Al

The day that I saw the hoppers there they stretched for just about 1 mile which should be about 100 cars. The later report that some had been moved said it was 50 cars brought to Crawford Yard. Do you have an estimate on how many are there now?

Driving East on 465 over the ISRR, there is a loco with long hood facing north sitting at the kid glove spur switch with a long line of open hoppers.

Couldn't tell if he was north or south bound but he was stopped.

Looked like the hoppers described earlier in this thread.

After I posted the yawn comment I noticed a red white and blue Rail America loco in Martinsville

When does the ISRR local usually slip into Indianapolis to interchange with CSX?
The gates are going down and the people are starting to frown.

16 down, 4 to go.

ISRR did a down and back to Worthington yesterday to exchange cars. Looks like they may be set for a morning trip from Martinsville north today.

Would these be cars coming out of storage going into use or headed for scrap / sale?  Hoppers, boxes, mixed?

Saw an NS loaded coal train come south into Oakland City yesterday afternoon, I believe it was going to park on the former AWRR(?) trackage east of town for movement later.

It goes up to Bear Run Mine on the INRD to Load Out and Returns to NS. Have not seen any Posts on the NS Coal Trains in a Long Time on the ISRR.

NS/ISRR/INRD hand off still happens pretty regular. Very common through the week to see one parked at Elnora near the river bridge waiting on a crew.

Do they run those DPU to the mine or are they adding those at the ex-AW&W trackage? Thanks

I saw a Facebook post the ISRR has ended the haulage agreement with the INRD to move freight to Indy, due to the delays in getting cars through Avon.  Anyone seen additional traffic between Worthington and Martinsville lately?

Thanks,

Gerald
