Greetings from Arkansas
« on: December 20, 2016, 08:04:00 PM »
Hi. New member here. This looks like a great resource! I googled a research topic and it uncovered this place.

A little about me.
Ive been a railfan since i was very small. One of my earliest memories was my grandfather and i scurrying into the car to catch up with the evening local on the old Little Miami (pennsy) just outside Cincinnati. Been a fan ever since. Ive also had an idea on how the railroad could have survived and hss evolved over the years. My dad grew up in Berne and so i also have interest in the GRI, the Cloverleaf and the Erie Lackawanna as well.
Currently employed by UP as a road freight conductor. This experience has greatly enhancef my understanding of railroading, and aided the design of various what if scenarios.

Looking forward to participating here. Happy holidays!

Welcome to the Discussion Board!

You said your Dad grew up in Berne.  My grew up in Orrville, OH, but her family came from Berne originally.  (Well, Switzerland, way back!).  There's lots of Lehman's where she came from -- including the great Lehman's Hardware in nearby Kidron.  She was a Nussbaum originally.  Maybe you two are distant cousins!
