Looking for Northwest Indiana radio frequencies
« on: October 05, 2016, 09:46:25 AM »
Looking to making a trip to Northwest Indiana this week.  Looking for channels for NS Elkhart-Chicago, CSX-Chicago east, CN, CN (former EJ&E) IHB (Indiana side), anything else pertinent. Help please!  :)

CN channels that I hear most of the time around South Bend are 28/30/32.  Kirk yard is still 16 I believe.
The CSX line still 08 for road and 84 for dispatcher I believe.

NS's Premier Corridor "B-Line" from Ft. Wayne may still be 92.

NS Change to 34

As Indyspy posted elsewhere, the NS between Elkhart and Porter changed it's Chicago East Dispatcher from channel 46 to channel 34 on that territory in November.
There were also some proposed yard changes that may or may not have actually been implemented.
This helped to relieve some of the congestion on 46 (an old legacy Conrail and its predecessors channel).
46 is still evidently used out of Kankakee, Chicago West (including into Chicago Union Station by Amtrak), and Toledo Dispatcher.
Still used elsewhere in Indiana as well, such as by CSX on the Crawfordsville Branch.
