Rain fan trip Ft Wayne to Fostoria
« on: August 07, 2016, 06:01:34 PM »
I am railfanning the Ft Wayne area then heading to Fostoria.  I am looking for some suggestions.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks. Art

I assume you are looking for good railfan locations.  As far as Fort Wayne, NE on Hartzell Road (east end of East Wayne Yard) and Hugo on the southwest side of town are you best bets.  (See the Fort Wayne Railfan page for more details) Between Fort Wayne and Fostoria, Leipsic is about the only place to see anything, unless you want to detour up to Deshler or North Baltimore.  Otherwise, it's just following a single track line through the countryside.

Unless you like towering grain elevator shots at Payne or Edgerton, or the bridges at Oakwood and Melrose, there's not a lot of scenery or dramatic shot locations once you leave New Haven.

How exactly does one become a "rain fan"?   ;D

I'm a big fan of rain, and wish it would before my yard dies, my plants die, my trees die......
