The end of ATCS monitor at Haley
« on: May 10, 2016, 05:40:42 PM »
Hytwr1 might be planning on posting this here and, if so, I apologize for stealing his thunder. I even stole the subject line from him. About 2 hours ago he sent this message to the docents of the Wabash Valley Railroaders Museum:

"Those folks who were lucky enough to work last weekend are the last docents to work while the ATCS monitor system was fully functional. CSX cut the new system in Monday and Tuesday. Everything south of Haley is now on the new system. Since I have not been back to the tower yet today, they may have entire city on the new system when I get back."

I worked Sunday so perhaps one of the last to see it as it was. We knew it would be going but I will sure miss it since it was fun to tell visitors where to watch for the next train. I can't usually tell from radio transmissions who is coming or from where.
