St. Louis line dispatcher now LB?
« on: October 31, 2014, 02:11:09 PM »
OK, I must be out of the loop, but did the desk for the St. Louis line change to LB from IB? When did that happen?  Is it still dispatched out of N. Georgia St.?

LB?

He does the Indianapolis Sub, Indiana Sub, Illinois Sub, and used to do the Hoosier Sub.

That is a Louisville Dispatcher..

Sure your not hearing the dispatcher down on the Illinois/Indiana subs? That line uses the same road channel as the St Louis Line.

Long story why, but the short of it is the St Louis line went to 160.365 Road when they went to the dual channel setup. But that channel was found to have a lot of intermod and racket on it. So they moved to the same channel the B&O is on.
If in doubt, Notch it out!

Most of the former B&O lines use 008-008 as the road channel.  So, if you're west of Avon you could be hearing the LB calling trains on the B&O east of CP IU.

SA does the IL sub. I hear the LB when J700 is at the east end of washington.

They must have changed things up then when the moved the CF desk at Jacksonville to LB at Louisville (or wherever it is now)

But since all the traffic fir the ill sub is off the CEI now, it makes sense.
If in doubt, Notch it out!

I am not sure now. SA and SB used to be the two "second floor" dispatchers in Jacksonville. The A B And C codes were on the main floor in Jacksonville. But they ran out of space. And put two ds stations on the second floor down there.
If in doubt, Notch it out!

Ah, that must be it.  I thought it was weird I was getting a Louisville Div. desk, forgot that the old B&O Hamilton Sub was a Louisville line.

Yes, I recall the "S" dispatchers and the situation where CSX ran out of space in the then- dispatching center at Jax.  If I'm not mistaken, the SB dispatcher handled the LH&STL sub, and maybe the HD, but I could be wrong about that part of it.
