ITM will host the reproduced Leviathan steam locomotive #63 on Saturday & Sunday, April 26 & 27.  There will be 5 trips each day between Fishers and Noblesville.  (In fact this will be the final occasion that ITM will have use of Fishers Train Station for, as it is scheduled to be closed in May to prepare for its unfortunate demolition.)  The consist is undecided as of yet, other than it will include the Florida East Coast #90 (the "Flagler Car").  Details should be on the ITM website soon.

Thanks - Would be pretty cool if they took it on a little ride into Marion county down to Sutherland or 30th street (similar to the photo freight a few years back).

Just like to note, schedules are tentative and more information will available as details are worked out. Regardless of specifics, should be a fun event!

I think I would die laughing if I saw it in consist on a Q train. It doesnt even have a front coupler.

Hello 1850. The first of the steamers.

Thats not cool about the depot, hopefully they will find a better replacement, and build a nice one.

Does this thing actually burn wood, or is it similar to the "fake" steamers than burn fuel and have a smoke generator?

You've gotta be joking. The sight of that pristine thing would bring the taggers and scrappers out of the hood that far south. It'd come back to Fishers as just a boiler and wheels.... and on blocks.  ;D

If you mean like the engine at the Zoo, then no, there's no smoke generator. It is an oil burner, but its an oi burner like 4449 and 844 and many others, that still produce a nice plume when the fireman overfeeds the fire.

Not if it was moving.  May interest some young folks in trains if they saw it roll by on a track they thought wasn't used anymore.

If it were up to me I'd run it all the way South at least once just for the different photo ops. And let's pray they put it on the South end of the train so it'll have proper lighting for photos.
