Unattended bag next to a payphone.

This is Amtrak Police, not sure why it needs to be repeated in Indy...........

Other then to give the guy in the shack at BG a way to radio in trouble.

could be for them to have radio comm with Chicago police officials.  good point.

IndySpy what is your general location?  how far from the grove are you?  I am wondering if I had a better scanner antenna if I could pick up the repeater at my house.

Not far, US31/465 south side.

Antenna is 35 foot up. It's an older traintenna.
If in doubt, Notch it out!

How deep does your concrete base run for that? Your setup does pretty good.

I have a Antennacraft ST-2 30 feet in the air using a Uniden BC8500XLT scanner, huge fan of this scanner, ebay find.  I am near state road 39 and I-74 about ten miles west of Brownsburg.  I scan other frequencies so I prefer an antenna that receives multiple bands.  I suppose traintenna would probably be better at receiving RR Ch.78 than my ST-2 since it is tuned specifically for RR channels but then I would be limited on what I could listen to.  Maybe I should try another antenna?  Also picking up a Beech Grove tower might be asking quite a bit given my location, but I have no problem listening to the ham repeater in Marion county.  Any input on this?

I don't have a tower, it's on my chimney lol. It is atop 10 foot of mast on my chimney.

I have plans to put in a tower. Get it higher and away from the freaking power line noise.

at 06:07 some lady did a safety breif over the radio that no weapons are to be carried unless approved by the chief. No weapons are to be modified unless by the cheif armorer.

Well here again, this is chicago. Did they have to trade their 5 shot pistol in for a tazer? lol

That reminds me, I'd sure like to get of one of those lever action cal rifles the railroad bulls used to use. I would guess they are a 45 cal?

Pretty sure most are 30-30, I'm sure they are some that shoot a 45 long cartridge.

Man I have to get after IPL again. Their dang insulators are making that BUZZ on my feed again.

Second damn time I have had to get after them for power line noise.

The insulators on the poles will cause RF noise if they are old.
