10,000í or 14,000 ton limitng on freights.  12,000í if running DP.

IIRC Solid Intermodal and autoracks are a 12,000í limit, 14,000í if DP.
So csx has lower trailing tonnage for dp trains than non dp trains?

I read it as, Freights are 14,000 ton and 10,000 feet limited.  DP can go to 12,000 feet.  (I had to look 3-4 times, too)

Have to look up the tonnage if running DP, and left it off original post rather than spreading disinformation.

So CSX isnít running everything including the kitchen sink on freight trains.  If displayed length in the computer is even 1 ft over, train will reduce to the limit.

This morning at around 830 AM, While I was at the Lucas Oil, I happened to catch a Westbound Stack Train with the UP 4014 Leading. I thought that this Locomotive was suppose to be Renumbered since the Big Boy 4014 was being rebuilt.

What authority does the CSX Police have in regards to keeping a person away from their tracks and preventing you from video recording them?  Was taking a video of some MOW work being done and standing about 10 feet or so from the work activity,  INSIDE the fenced property of my place of employment. Was told to put down the camera and get further back.

The kicker was that he walked thru the gate of my employer to tell me this info. In hindsight,  I should have told him that he was trespassing on private property, but figured that would get me into hot water.....

What's the deal with this??

There is No Law that says You Cannot Video Trains. I would Contact an Attorney over this.

Was he doing something he wouldn't want others to see?  CSX has no authority to tell you what you can or cannot do on private property (not their own) or public property.  The kicker is sometimes the property you think is private is really railroad.  So unless you have a copy of the plat book (or auditor's tax map) in your back pocket, it is safer, easier to move on and circle back later.

You were on your employers property and not the railroads?  As long as you were allowed to be on your empIoyers property I would have told him as nicely as possible in the most comforting voice to mind his own business

Btw, you can photograph or video any person you want as long as you are on your property, private property with owners permission, or public property.

He said that the railroad owns the property 75 feet on both sides of the track.

If that's true,  why did CSX let a private company build a fence on railroad property?

If thatís the case, then either your employer built a fence on csx property, had permission  to build on their property which is highly unlikely, or the officer is full of it.  If you arenít sure of your employers property line then Iíd have backed up behind 75í and then video or take pics.
He could be correct but he could also just be throwing out a number because they donít always own that much on both sides and sometimes they own more.

Noticed a couple of things on the Crawfordsville Branch west of I-465 recently. there was a Herzog train parked in the siding out there Tuesday and Wednesday (those are the two days I was out that way). Also, on Wednesday I caught the tail end of a westbound stack train (assume it was Q007) on the Washington Street overpass. At the end of the train there was a single locomotive followed by a single loaded stack car. I don't know it was a DPU but if it was, the placement was interesting.
