The date says 1992, but was it 1993?

Nope, 1992. I remember it well because I rode this train from St. Louis to Kansas City a week later.  8)
Very nice picture!  It was a grand time on the Indiana Sub.

It was a grand time for the whole Midwest with that puppy running around. I spent a couple of weekends and some extra days down in Kentucky and Tennessee with it on its tour, some of my favorite video I took was of it on the Copper Creek Trestle while it was sitting there in a  pouring down rain, Steve Lee opened everything up and it was quite a display with all that steam pouring out in that wet weather.
Have a good and safe day!

Go Reds!

That would've been a sight!  Which is why I can't wait until they get Big Boy #4014 up and running again!

I remember that day, I was taking some still shots at the same spot..  My Father was taking video, I need to see if I can find that..

What I would do, to be in North Platte, seeing 150 + Union Pacific trains a day... Also a fan of the INRD...

WOW! Great pic.  I have seen the bridge a hundred times and wondered what it looked like with something on it.  What a catch!

As I Recall the 3985 was Returning to the UP from being down on the Clinchfield Railroad as a Santa Train for CSX. Me, the Wife and Kids along with my Dad and Step-Mom Caught it in Seymour Indiana where it Stopped for Water and Servicing.  It was all UP Equipment, They had left the CSX Passenger Cars down South.
