New NS Chicago Line server coming
« on: September 13, 2013, 02:33:48 PM »
For everyone who monitors the NS Chi-Line ATCS layout I have some big news. :o  ???

After months of thinking and talking the grandparents into this, along with several other factors factored in,I am proud to announce that a new server will be installed to cover the area between CP503-Cp509 and a online scanner feed will also be installed to cover the same area. The install date MAY BE the second week in October. Final install date will be announced.

More details will come in the future

West of CP 502 the coverage is VERY spotty and works once in a blue moon.East of 502(except 501 for some odd reason)Is covered by a different server and works

My advice, don't advertise a server install until you have it online.  So many variables can and will happen.   ;)

Since I was not home the 26th the server was not installed but the 8 foot fiberglass antennas were put up 3 stories in the air.I am guessing since they are high up  there I will recieve the following CP's:503,505,506,507,509,513 on the NS chicago line and 110th street,Burnham, and a few more MCP,s on the NS Chicago District.

Using a Maxtrac with a regular 800MHZ mag mount antenna mounted outside my second floor window I was able to recieve the following CP's:503,505,506,507,509,513 on the NS Chicago Line and Burnham and 110th street on the NS Chicago District.

So with 8 foot tall antennas over 3 stories up on the chimney I suppose that fills in a huge gap for the Chicago Line and Part of the Chicago District.I may be looking for a place to put a server in Lafayette for the Lafayette District
