5-0 radio I phone
« on: June 17, 2013, 03:46:36 PM »
Was playing around with my scanner app (5-0 radio) after I called 911 on some farm field trespassers and discovered rail channels. I searched channels in my area to upgrade my list and had south central Illinois rail come up and CSX's ced sub come up. The version I use is the free version. Just thought I would spread the word if someone didn't know.

I try to forget those days... Hard to be a mechanic on the go and function without it.

I use Tunein to get the Monon and Wabash on my phone. I can hear NS and CSX up north occasionally too.

I have three scanner apps on my iPhone (very interesting to listen to the Fire Command call for more alarms last Saturday), my SR Deluxe can pick up Avon Yards & the Monon 4th District, Scanner 911 can Avon and the CE&D Sub, and my Emergency Radio app can get all of the previous ones on a single app.

Keep in mind that these apps are, for the most part, worldwide. I can listen in on the Valdosta, GA railroad scanners, UP across Nebraska, or CP in Canada.

I get lots of IPHONE/IPAD users listen to my Indy RR stream. So I imagine it's on there.

Any way to listen in with an Android device that you know of? I have one scanner app that only has the Avon yard and Monon district. Maybe I need to check out some others.
