These are the things that happen when People get in a Hurry. Same goes for Drivers of Cars. Always in a Hurry. Then they wonder why they were Hit. Then try to Blame the Railroad for their Stupidity.

Yeah, the kid screwed up. I'm sure we all did something stupid when we were teenagers. Some of us paid the price for it and it will follow us for the rest of our lives. Most of us were blessed and got away with it. Hopefully the young man will recover enough to have a normal life and this incident will be an example for other teens.

I'm sure we all did something stupid when we were teenagers.
I remember racing my friend from Bloomington to Greencastle.  An officer pulled me over in Cloverdale for speeding, passing on a solid line on a sharp curve going up a blind hill.  Although he had every right to throw the book at me, he only ticketed me for speeding.  I was lucky one of those big coal trucks didn't come over the top of that hill and get me.

When I was a teen, I did a few other stupid and dangerous things, too, but there's no need to incriminate myself further...  ;)
