Heard something on the scanner just now at 12:15AM, had a axle count of 12. Wonder if it is the power from the transformer move heading to Cincinnati?
Have a good and safe day!

Not exactly sure but I believe they came south just past the connection track switch then backed their train onto the IL sub so they were ready to head east. V502 made this move a few times.

Have you ever seen them use the old stock yard connector?  turn west to Beamon and run around to pull east?

Cars are billed to Madison IN.   No idea where they'll unload down there - this sounds like a job for HoosierVirg

East of where the Madison Railroad crosse Clifty Drive in Madison there is an electric company facility complete with track back into it. i believe it is Duke Energy now, if not they may go into the JPG and they unload them there at the ramp. Will keep all four eyes open to see if I can find them down there.
Have a good and safe day!

J-780 in the Koppers tie yard siding in Mitchell. Looks like lumber and tie gons for Loogootee and tanks for Washington. I think the last lumber car was left in Mitchell all week. May not have been enough room at Loogootee. (All speculation by me) Lugnut would know for sure.

i dont know why they would leave it. if anything they would leave a gon instead of the lumber car. they probably didnt feel like switching out the cut this afternoon.

As I was coming thru town (North Vernon) this afternoon I noticed the local getting ready to leave town.
It cleared the east end of town before I could catch the head end.
I caught up to it in Hayden.

Here is the X851 setting at the west end of Washington. Had to wait on a thunderstorm to pass so I could take the pictures. The SD 40-2 was shut down. Not sure when this train will leave but I would love to catch it east of Vincennes.
In the third picture you can see the B&O/ISRR crossing in the distance.
Thanks for the heads up.

X851 passed through Vincennes at 23:00. The PTI man was going to Flora so I assume they are spotting some cars there.

Thats pretty funny actually. Chappel is an Automatic interlocking (the name of the CSX/ISRR crossing). So with CSX sitting dead on the approach circuit. Any ISRR trains get red signals. They would have to press the button and run time on the interlocking to get a signal.
If in doubt, Notch it out!

Caught the local working NV yard CSX #6958 GP40-2 & #2358 RDMT.
CMPA #2013 SW8 was also working the yard at the same time.
I snapped several pics.

I also posted several pics in the Madison thread.
