Spirit of Jasper train
« on: October 20, 2012, 11:40:17 AM »
I stumbled onto the train on Thursday, 10-18-2012 (6PM) headed south from French Lick. Took this photo at the new W. College street crossing. There were quite a few passengers on the train, but I don't know if it was a special dinner train or what. The engine and the cars came from the Crane Naval Installation. The GE 80 ton originally was on the east coast (I forget where) the cars in order are a Milwaukee Hiawatha coach, a USAF telemetry car used as an office, and a Navy medical/hearse car with a modified roof (originally clerestory).

Must be a special charter for a group or special event if it was Thursday.  During October they are only scheduled to run on Saturdays for fall foliage ride and dine.
