WWVR Grand Central Station Hit By Truck
« on: September 17, 2018, 10:40:38 PM »
Well the war between railroads and trucks saw another battle today as a Suburban left the street, crossed the rails and made kindling of a part of the platform at the White Water Valley Grand Central Station in Connersville. Here's a link to a photo. https://www.newsexaminer.com/common/story.php?ID=46947&hl=Car-hits-rail-depot

This would happen right before our busiest month of the year!

So are they going to wait on insurance and hire the work out, or will they use volunteers and get back to normal?

The city owns the station, and they have made one of the railroad officers the focal point for the repairs. Debris cleanup today with some help from a city dump truck. I think they still need to do a detailed inspection to look for hidden damage, cracked floor beams, etc. Till then the platform area is being closed.
