Coming home from work today I saw the job that works the Zionsville Industrial stopped and blocking the 62nd Street crossing. This was around 2 p.m. I headed up Guion Road. That crossing was not blocked. The locomotive headlight was not lit. Just wondered what was going on if anyone knows.

Guessing engine failure. Heard Y234 say they had 3 units total, two dead.

Thanks. Looked like only two units but I didn't stop to look closer. Also looked like only needed 1 1/2 car lengths to clear 62nd street, but again, I didn't get close enough to look for sure. Just my observations as I was driving by. Any idea how long it sat there before moving on?

CSX Indianapolis Sub sighting.  J785-05 left Hawthorne around 8:15AM this morning, passed Audobon Ave (BD 119.7) heading eastbound around 8:45, about 22 cars with 6446 GP40 & 2221 Slug leading.

Is it still running to Morristown before heading back to Indy? Also, is this 5 day a week schedule?

I'm not sure what all the J785 does but he released his EC-1 from the belt at Hawthorne at around 14:00 this afternoon.

I happened to catch the Cardinal Amtrak 51 at 0600 this morning as I was going into the Convention Center. Had Amtrak 138 and 7 Cars on it.

CSX Indianapolis Sub sighting.  J774-06 eastbound this sunny Sunday morning at 10:35 by Shortridge Rd (~BD 118) with CSXT 8613 & 117 leading, and 27 cars.  I think I heard radio chatter of an eastbound W888-05 train with CSXT 295 about a half an hour earlier. He had an EC-1 to the switch at the east end of Lyonsville.

Heading to Cincinnati via the Indianapolis Sub?

Most go via Ridgeway and south towards Russell, KY.

Might be the W888-11 with 4385 leading. LB put him in the Julietta siding.

Just wondering if anyone knows what is going on here. Eastbound rack train downtown with what looks like a midtrain helper, but my guess is it's dead in tow. It did seem like an extra long consist but hard to tell with no scanner to listen to axle count.

All class 1’s are using DPU’s throughout their system. Becoming fairly common these days

They are into building some big slinkys. Any wonder why departure times are down?

10,000’ or 14,000 ton limitng on freights.  12,000’ if running DP.

IIRC Solid Intermodal and autoracks are a 12,000’ limit, 14,000’ if DP.
