On the way to work this morning I noticed a string of hoppers in the east end of Butlerville siding.
On the way home I took a closer look and snapped some pictures.
Mostly open top hopper with a few covered hoppers mixed in.
I hadn't been out that way since last friday, does anyone know when they showed up or where they came from?
Thanks

Looks ike they got there early morning hours 3/20.  Train was X90118 out of Corbin and shows it was originally to go to "Mitchell".  Shows as HBO/PROJECT/RETIRE (HBO is Heavy Bad Order)

Does that mean they will go somewhere for repair or will they be scraped?

Not sure if they do cutting at Washington or not.  But I do know that we have a high volume car cutting operation in Louisville.   Lots of stuff the feed the sheer in that line up!  Send em on down!

At 7:45, St. Joe switcher was sitting at Anderson Ferry while a CSX auto rack passed. Didn't get the numbers through the snow/sleet/rain/ice/fog/mist combination of white death that was falling. I assume it was one of the Louisville trains running very late.

Assumed parked train was St. Joe switcher, but after reading the updates thread, I think I was wrong.

There is a westbound at Osgood now at 10:23PM, heard it on the detector at 10:10PM. It must be the empty coal train Cheviot Hill saw and reported on on the other thread.
